Approved Adult Training Update

CMC’s Safe Church initiative to prevent sexual abuse and support victims is almost a year into its pilot phase.

We’re well on our way to our goal of having all adults who work with children and youth fully trained and vetted by the beginning of the 2016-17 school year.

Thank you to all who have begun the process. Let this serve as a reminder to complete it.

If you haven’t yet started the process, but you serve as a Sunday school teacher, mentor, MYF sponsor, etc., please plan on attending the training on May 21, at Park View Mennonite Church (see Pastor Jason for details).

Have you taken the training, but lost your paperwork? Here’s a complete list of the required documentation and background checks.

As of April 22:

  • Roughly 80 adults should be seeking to become Approved Adults (due to their roles as mentors, sponsors, Sunday school teachers, or nursery volunteers)
  • 50 have completed the required training.
  • 37 have paperwork in progress.
  • 30 have fully completed all requirements and are Approved Adults
