In order to encourage renewal of vision and energy, and to increase the likelihood of longer pastoral tenure, after four years of service to CMC, CMC will negotiate with the Pastor for a sabbatical up to four months in length. CMC Church Council shall approve sabbatical plans submitted by the Pastor.
During the sabbatical, the Pastor will receive salary and benefits that exist in the current Covenant of Understanding. Following the sabbatical, the Pastor agrees to provide a minimum of one year of full time service to the congregation with the understanding that repayment of sabbatical salary and benefits will be made for failure to do so.
