Well-loved Southern Gospel music group, Inspirations, bring their award-winning sound to the Shenandoah Valley on Saturday, October 24, 6:15 p.m., Lindale Mennonite Church.  Inspirations’ enthusiasm and musical excellence inspire thousands as they sing uplifting gospel music.   John Schmid, country and Gospel singer from Ohio, will open for them.  An offering will be received at the concert to benefit outreach with churches in Haiti and the Lindale expanding ministries project. Come support NewBridges Immigrant Resource Center at a Community Shopping Day at Ten Thousand Villages, downtown Harrisonburg, on Sunday Oct. 25 from 12-4. Ten Thousand Villages will donate a portion of its sales that day to NewBridges. NewBridges has recently moved to new offices downtown and Executive Director, Alicia Horst is accredited to offer immigration law counsel.  Started as a mission of Harrisonburg District, NewBridges is celebrating 15 years of service and looking forward to its future.

The Walk for Our Community Place is a 10K fundraising walk through historic Harrisonburg. Join us Saturday, October 31, 8am-12pm at OCP. Walkers can register as an individual or with a team at www.ourcommunityplace.org/walk. All walkers are encouraged to raise $100 or more through sponsorships from friends, family, and coworkers.

The 14th annual Festival of Praise, a praise-filled concert of men's singing groups and combined chorus, will be Sunday, November 1 at 4 pm at the Eastern Mennonite School auditorium, 801 Parkwood Drive, Harrisonburg. Featuring 12 singing groups each performing two songs and then combining into a mass chorus for the finale, this concert will raise funds for the ministries of Virginia Mennonite Missions.

Bridge of Hope's 5th Annual Luncheon & Fashion Show will be Saturday, November 7, at Park View Mennonite Church. Doors open at 11 am for the silent auction with a meal provided by Bowl of Good, followed by a fashion show featuring clothing from Gift & Thrift and accessories from Ten Thousand Villages. You will also have the opportunity to meet the couple behind the Teeny Tiny Spice Company, and a chance to purchase some of their unique spice blends to try at home! Shekinah celebrates the release of their new CD, "Songbird: Music for the Young at Heart," an album of cheerful, diverse tunes for all ages. They will have a CD Release Concert on Saturday, November 7, at 7 p.m. at Park View Mennonite Church in Harrisonburg. Freewill admission. CD sales and light reception to follow the concert. Northern Virginia Mennonite Church (Fairfax, VA) will have a workday on November 14 beginning at 9 am or when volunteers are able to arrive. Come and join the the work, fellowship and fun of helping to prepare the space on the 2nd floor of our church building where our new worship sanctuary will be built. The only skill you need is a willingness to work. It will be helpful if you are able to bring along a few simple carpentry tools. Lunch will be provided. Williamsburg Christian Retreat Center is accepting applications for Program Director.  The Program Director is part of the leadership team and oversees our summer camp ministry, our challenge course, our pool, and some non-summer programmed retreats.  Desirable qualifications and experience include: Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent experience, experience in program design and ministry, experience in a leadership role at a summer camp, certifications necessary to lead/teach in ropes course operation and aquatics/lifeguarding.
