VMRC will provide free memory screenings from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., November 18, as part of National Memory Screening Day sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America. The screening consists of questions or tasks designed to test memory, language skills, thinking ability and other intellectual functions. It is not a diagnostic test. Results will be given to participants immediately after the screening. An appointment is required and may be scheduled by calling 540-564-3400.

You are invited to Pleasant View’s 20th Annual Banquet on Saturday, November 22, at 6:00 p.m., in the dining hall of Eastern Mennonite School. A Swiss ensemble of five musicians from Anabaptist ancestry will perform a Thanksgiving concert of hymns in German and English and meditation (translated into English) at Park View Mennonite Church on Saturday, November 22, at 7:00 pm.  Instrumental compositions and hymns will include the alphorn, guitar, flugelhorn and piano.

All are welcome to an annual Thanksgiving Day Service, Nov. 27 at Trissels Mennonite Church, Broadway. Join us for fellowship and refreshments at 9:30 am. The service at 10 am will include hymns of thanksgiving, an offering toward MCC's work in Iraq among refugees from the Islamic State presented by Anne Hershberger, a brief meditation by Jim Hershberger, and time of open sharing of thanks. The public is invited to a reception for Don Clymer and Sharon Clymer Landis’ new book The Spacious Heart: Room for Spiritual Awakening sponsored by the Language and Literature department and the publisher, Herald Press. It will be held in the Campus Center, Strite Conference Room, on Dec. 4. Light refreshments and a short presentation by the authors at 4:30 p.m. Books will be available for sale and signing.

Shekinah <http://shekinahmusic.net/> and Cantore <http://www.cantoremusic.com/> invite you to their fourth annual Christmas Coffeehouse at Park View Mennonite Church's fellowship hall.  These a cappella groups come together to share two concerts on Friday, Dec. 12 and Sat. Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. in a relaxed coffeehouse atmosphere with refreshments provided.  Concerts are by donation, and all proceeds will go to Our Community Place.
