This year the CMC Youth Commission is providing an Advent resource for CMCers from Illustrated Ministry which can be downloaded and used at home. This Advent devotional is titled "Do Not Be Afraid,” and includes a family-friendly devotion for each Sunday of Advent. Also included are templates for simple crafts and beautiful coloring pages related to the Advent themes of hope, peace, joy, and love. You can download the packet by clicking here.

The culmination and the beginning of the Church year is Advent.  As daylight grows shorter in the northern hemisphere we bear witness to the light of Christ coming into the world.  Additionally, we recognize that living with Christ lightens the burden of living through a pandemic.  We’re grateful to offer this Advent Light series for CMCers near and far, young and old.  Families with children can use the Advent materials from Illustrated Ministry (above); those whose spirits are buoyed by the sounds of the church will appreciate the week’s Music Sunday, and those who are grieving, suffering or supporting others may be drawn to the local ecumenical Longest Night Service on Dec. 20 at 7 pm.
