Newsweekly for April 24

Local Events and Opportunities

Mark your calendars for Roberta Webb Child Care Center's dinner and auction on Friday, April 29 at First Presbyterian Church.  Doors will open at 5:45 pm, dinner starts at 6 pm, and the auction will start at 7:15.  Sonny Henkel will be the auctioneer.  If you have items you would like to donate for the auction (including a silent auction), please call 540-434-8699.

Ladies: Remember the MWV Annual Missions Day event, Thursday, May 5, Mt. Clinton Mennonite Church, Harrisonburg, 6pm.  We are changing the event this year to an evening dinner and fellowship followed by the missions gifting process.  To make a reservation for dinner (yes, it's free!), please contact Dianna Lehman at 540-810-2706 or by email at: dianna.lehman@vmmissions.org.  If you are coming from a distance, Dianna Lehman will also take your reservations (yes, free!) for spending the night in a local home, if you prefer that to driving home late. NOTE: We have learned that our event is the same evening as one of Park View Federal Credit Union's annual events – so mom, let dad take the kids and you can join us for dinner and fellowship!

Join Highland friends for the Serve and Play weekend, May 6-8. Virginia Mennonite Missions Prayer Request:

April 24

As Jacob works on his MFA thesis in South Asia, he meets new types of people: typeface designers, journalists, artists, and authors. Pray that he and his wife Hosanna will find ways to share the gospel with these people.
